Nationally recognized, Cincinnati artist, Kay Hurley holds a BFA and has exhibited in Europe and is represented by several premier galleries in the US. Her work is in numerous private and corporate collections. Ms. Hurley is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America. Her work has been featured in The Pastel Journal and recently in The Artist’s Magazine. Kay also enjoys teaching, primarily by hosting workshops and mentoring aspiring art students.
Terri Kern
Terri Kern received her Master of Fine Arts Degree from Ohio University. That She was awarded an Individual Artist Grant from the Ohio Arts Council for a body of sculptural ceramic pieces. She opened her own ceramics studio where she created a line of jewelry and began selling her ceramics at local art shows. Later she secured a position teaching Art Appreciation and Ceramics at Morehead State University in Kentucky. She was awarded an Individual Artist Grant from the Kentucky Foundation for Women. In the last fifteen years, Terri has traveled all over the United States and Europe selling her one of a kind ceramic pieces at fine art and fine craft venues. Her work has been on the cover of Clay Times, a national ceramics magazine. Recently, she traveled to the Peoples Republic of China where she and seventeen other artists exhibited drawings that were part of an international drawing collaborative. That body of work earned her an international arts award for innovation. She has won more than twenty five awards for excellence in ceramics in venues across the United States. In 2009 she had her first solo museum exhibition at the Canton Museum of Art . The museum has purchased three of her pieces for their permanent collection.
Tamera Lenz Muente
Tamera Lenz Muente is curatorial assistant/exhibition coordinator at the Taft Museum of Art, where she serves as the curator of the recently established Keystone Contemporary Gallery. Ms. Muente holds an M.A. in art history from the University of Cincinnati, where she earned honors. While completing her B.A. in English from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, she won awards for her poetry and studied art in Paris and Florence. She writes about the visual arts for Cincinnati CityBeat, as well as the national art publications The Artist's Magazine, The Pastel Journal, and Watercolor Artist. She has also taught Art History at Northern Kentucky University and has presented a variety of educational gallery talks at the Taft Museum of Art. She serves on the Board of Directors for Manifest Creative Research Gallery and Drawing Center in Cincinnati.
Sylvia Rombis
Sylvia Rombis attended the University of Cincinnati earning a BA in Business, and a BA in Fashion design, where she graduated in the top of her class. Ms.Rombis worked for 13 years for the US Shoe Corporation eventually becoming Design Director for their most profitable brand, Easy Spirit. In 1998, Sylvia purchased the Malton Gallery, a highly regarded commercial gallery in Cincinnati. At Sylvia’s direction, the Malton Gallery has evolved to be “the” place for contemporary fine art in the region, representing over 100 regional, national and international artists. In 2009, after 35 years in the Hyde Park area of Cincinnati, Sylvia built a new building to house the ever expanding collection of extraordinary paintings and sculpture. The gallery has regular art openings as well as merging artist/cultural events in the lower level of the building.
