Thanks to all who applied and exhibited at this year's show! We had a great attendance and the artists we heard from said they had a great day! The silent auction and emerging artists area were such a wonderful addition to the show!

Please help spread the word about our scholarship fund! If you know of a student interested in art education please refer them to our website. We have partnered with The Cincinnati Art Academy who will administer the scholarships. Interested students can download the scholarship application and submit it to submit@autumnairartfair.org. 4 Weeks to the 2011 Show!!!

We're one month away from the 3rd Annual Show! This year's show is sure to be up there with one of the region's best! Thank you to all that applied and to our dedicated jurors, who really had their work cut out for them. We have a great variety of high quality artisians in this year's show!!!

We've partnered with The Art Academy of Cincinnati for our scholarship fund... Students up to age 24, will be considered for the scholarships which will be available from the proceeds of the show. The silent auction will be live, all day, thanks to our coordinator, Alice Young Basora and our volunteers who will oversee the auction. All proceeds will benefit the scholarship fund.

Our Emerging Artist area has grown this year... we have students from Columbus, Ohio and the state of Michigan who will participate, along with many from Cincinnati and the surrounding area.

This year's show is sure to have amazing ART!!! Our volunteers did a fantastic job getting the word out! Artist applications include some of the most talented and unique artists from our region! Guest jurors; Brian Burt, Terri Kern and Sylvia Rombis, will enjoy viewing such wonderful art!

We are gearing up for our PR phase and cannot wait to start promoting the show! Our PR Parners for the event include; Art Design and Consulting (ADC), Art Works, Clifton Town Meeting (CTM), Malton Gallery, Phyllis Weston Gallery and
The Clifton Cultural Arts Center (CCAC). Their support thus far has been incredible!

In addition to working with our PR Partners, we intend to advertise in a variety of media venues!

Interested artists may download the application and upload their images at the right side of the screen! Fees must be postmarked no later than 7/15.

Thank you for your interest in the 3rd Annual Autumn Air Art Fair. Please download the Artist Application for more information about the show and return your entry to us by July 15, 2011. Last year's show was a huge success and we look forward to making 2011 even better!

AAAF holds the belief that art is to be celebrated and shared. This year’s event will feature approximately 50 talented artists and will be held on Saturday, November 5th in the Clifton Cultural Arts Center (CCAC). The Autumn Air Art Fair is recognized for it’s high quality and mix of unique handcrafted art. The event is free to the public. There is ample free parking in the adjacent Recreation Center (refer to the map on the CCAC website).

Clifton is known as the Gaslight District and is recognized as one of Cincinnati’s most treasured neighborhoods. The community boasts historic homes, numerous city parks, tree lined streets and a bohemian and artistic business district with an arts theatre, numerous ethnic restaurants, boutiques and coffee shops. The University of Cincinnati’s campus, recognized for its signature architecture and quality curriculum, is within walking distance of the CCAC. Clifton is within minutes of downtown Cincinnati and near major interstates for easy access. Nearby hotels and accommodations are available for artists and recommendations can be made upon request.

The CCAC www.cliftonculturalarts.org formerly known as the Clifton School, was built in 1906 in the Beaux-Arts style and contains architecturally significant and historic details. Maps and directions are located on the CCAC website.

If you are an emerging artist and would like to submit your work to be in the show, please email 2 jpeg images of your work, the price range of your work and your artist statement, name, age, contact information and a $25 check for your booth fee. Autumn Air Art Fair Scholarship Fund

Scholarships will be available for art education to students exploring and already committed to art as a career path… A list of approved classes and will be available in the application.

Students will provide images of their work, an artist statement, a recommendation from an art instructor and the application.

Sponsorship levels have been established as follows:

The Four Season’s $500.00
Autumn Air $250.00
Winter $100.00
Spring $50.00
Summer $25.00

Application Deadline Extended to Wednesday, August 4th

We have been notified that our artist application had an error in it and therefore many artists interested in applying to the show have had problems getting their submittals in on time..... Please help us spread the word that all submittals should be emailed to submit@autumnairartfair.org not .com as originally listed in the application.

We have corrected the problem but realize that we may have missed some applications due to this.

We are extending the deadline to Wednesday, August 4th, in hopes that those of you that emailed your images to the incorrect address will get your email back as undeliverable and will therefore apply again.

Please accept our apologies. If you happen to learn of this mishap after the new deadline, please email us your original application as we will honor it.

Kay Hurley
Nationally recognized, Cincinnati artist, Kay Hurley holds a BFA and has exhibited in Europe and is represented by several premier galleries in the US. Her work is in numerous private and corporate collections. Ms. Hurley is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America. Her work has been featured in The Pastel Journal and recently in The Artist’s Magazine. Kay also enjoys teaching, primarily by hosting workshops and mentoring aspiring art students.

Terri Kern
Terri Kern received her Master of Fine Arts Degree from Ohio University. That She was awarded an Individual Artist Grant from the Ohio Arts Council for a body of sculptural ceramic pieces. She opened her own ceramics studio where she created a line of jewelry and began selling her ceramics at local art shows. Later she secured a position teaching Art Appreciation and Ceramics at Morehead State University in Kentucky. She was awarded an Individual Artist Grant from the Kentucky Foundation for Women. In the last fifteen years, Terri has traveled all over the United States and Europe selling her one of a kind ceramic pieces at fine art and fine craft venues. Her work has been on the cover of Clay Times, a national ceramics magazine. Recently, she traveled to the Peoples Republic of China where she and seventeen other artists exhibited drawings that were part of an international drawing collaborative. That body of work earned her an international arts award for innovation. She has won more than twenty five awards for excellence in ceramics in venues across the United States. In 2009 she had her first solo museum exhibition at the Canton Museum of Art . The museum has purchased three of her pieces for their permanent collection.

Tamera Lenz Muente
Tamera Lenz Muente is curatorial assistant/exhibition coordinator at the Taft Museum of Art, where she serves as the curator of the recently established Keystone Contemporary Gallery. Ms. Muente holds an M.A. in art history from the University of Cincinnati, where she earned honors. While completing her B.A. in English from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, she won awards for her poetry and studied art in Paris and Florence. She writes about the visual arts for Cincinnati CityBeat, as well as the national art publications The Artist's Magazine, The Pastel Journal, and Watercolor Artist. She has also taught Art History at Northern Kentucky University and has presented a variety of educational gallery talks at the Taft Museum of Art. She serves on the Board of Directors for Manifest Creative Research Gallery and Drawing Center in Cincinnati.

Sylvia Rombis
Sylvia Rombis attended the University of Cincinnati earning a BA in Business, and a BA in Fashion design, where she graduated in the top of her class. Ms.Rombis worked for 13 years for the US Shoe Corporation eventually becoming Design Director for their most profitable brand, Easy Spirit. In 1998, Sylvia purchased the Malton Gallery, a highly regarded commercial gallery in Cincinnati. At Sylvia’s direction, the Malton Gallery has evolved to be “the” place for contemporary fine art in the region, representing over 100 regional, national and international artists. In 2009, after 35 years in the Hyde Park area of Cincinnati, Sylvia built a new building to house the ever expanding collection of extraordinary paintings and sculpture. The gallery has regular art openings as well as merging artist/cultural events in the lower level of the building.

Our Efforts to Give Back
The AAAF Committee believes that encouraging children to participate in art should be an integral part of the event. Therefore, we are encouraging “emerging artists”, under the age of 18, to apply as well. The Autumn Air Art Fair Scholarship Fund is being established and will be supported by a percentage of the proceeds from the event. Donations will also be accepted at the door and all proceeds from the silent auction will be for the sole purpose of supporting the scholarship fund. Applications and more information on the scholarship fund will be available on the AAAF website very soon.
